White Paper: Infection Management Coalition Issues Call to Action

The Infection Management Coalition (IMC), a partnership between industry and biomedical researchers, is calling for changes to the NHS to make the UK’s healthcare system more resilient to outbreaks of infectious disease and infection prevention. Moreover, the IMC, founded in January 2021, asks for special emphasis on antimicrobial stewardship (AMS).

According to Fleur Jeffries of PM Live, “The recommendations include how crucial support is for healthcare providers in prescribing antimicrobials effectively – from efficient use of care diagnostics to determine if antimicrobials are appropriate, to public health and vaccination programmes in helping to avoid reliance on antimicrobials.”
