Stakeholders eye preauthorization, credentialing processes in suggestions for cutting administrative costs

A workgroup convened last year by the state to study ways to reduce administrative health care costs and complexities on Monday released a list of 25 recommendations, featuring ideas to simplify preauthorization and expedite the process of credentialing providers. The recommendations are the culmination of 10 months of discussion by New York’s Health Care Administrative Simplification Workgroup.
