Announced by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the strategy focuses on vaccines, bio-manufacturing, genomics, and plant optimization. This move, influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, prioritizes developing new vaccine technologies and establishing local bio-manufacturing. The strategy is intended to enhance domestic production, create jobs, and foster economic growth and diversification.
