The U.K.’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) announced the appointment of Gillian Leng, NICE’s current deputy chief executive, as its new chief executive.

Leng, who also serves as the director of health and social care, has served as NICE’s deputy chief executive since 2007.

According to NICE, Leng will take over as chief executive when Andrew Dillon steps down in April.

“The Board of NICE is delighted to appoint Gill to the role of Chief Executive,” NICE Interim Chair Tim Irish said in a statement. “NICE has a unique and unparalleled history and we wish to thank Andrew for his outstanding leadership over the last two decades.”
