We are in a new era of medicine where groundbreaking biopharmaceutical research and development is transforming medicine, but these innovations are meaningless if they don’t reach patients, including those in underserved communities. Health disparities are not new, but the COVID-19 pandemic put a spotlight on long-standing health inequities that affect diverse racial and ethnic communities in America. Data shows these populations have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.
