Healthcare Industry is #1 for Job Cuts in 2022

A new job report shows that healthcare tops the charts for the most job cuts in 2022. The report, produced by Challenger, Gray, and Christmas, shows that job cuts increased nearly 60% last month compared with June 2021, increasing from 20,476 to 32,517. The numbers are the highest since February 2021, which reached 34,531.

According to Nathan Tucker, “Healthcare/products manufacturers and providers announced the most job cuts this year with 19,390, which is up 54 percent from the 12,620 announced through June 2021. The automotive industry posted the second-highest cuts with 15,578, a number that is up from the 6,111 cuts in the previous year.”
