“EveryBODY Covered”: Campaign Advocates for Comprehensive Obesity Care Coverage for Women

February 22, 2024

The Alliance for Women’s Health and Prevention (AWHP) has launched the “EveryBODY Covered” campaign, with support from Eli Lilly, to promote better obesity care coverage. Aimed at encouraging women to seek comprehensive obesity care, the initiative involves collaboration with ten partners. It aims to influence employers, insurers, and legislators to extend coverage for obesity treatments, including medications. Eli Lilly, who contributed the initial funding, emphasizes its commitment to improving patient care without directly influencing the campaign’s activities. The campaign advocates for broadening Medicaid and Medicare coverage for obesity treatments, pushing for enacting the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act (TROA) to enhance Medicare benefits for weight management. Additionally, the “EveryBODY” effort includes digital advocacy, storytelling to combat obesity stigma, and educational webinars, underlining the significant health and societal impacts of obesity on women’s lives.
