Drugmaker Halves Price of Potentially Promising Coronavirus Treatment

March 23, 2020

New Jersey-based Rising Pharmaceuticals doubled the price of chloroquine in 2019, but the drugmaker, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, is dropping it to the original price, STAT reports.

“Once this whole issue started to explode with regard to the pandemic, we implemented a price decrease to effectively revert back to 2015 pricing across all customers,” Rising Pharmaceuticals COO Ira Baeringer told STAT.
