Could Payer Push for Innovative Contracts Lead to Lower Patient Costs?

Results from a survey by Verpora indicate that payers consider innovative contracts to be a robust cost-saving measure capable of improving the patient experience. However, barriers to achieving the spectrum of benefits associated with these contracts must still be overcome, such as modifying regulations and understanding the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Under traditional fee-for-service approaches to care delivery, there is often a lack of alignment and coordination among the various providers and medical facilities delivering care to a patient. Innovative contracts are one tool that may help improve coordination and enable more patient-centric care.
