ICER Releases Statement on Racism in America

The Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) has pledged to do its part to combat institutionalized and systemic racism. ICER acknowledges that they are part of a system–predicated on power–that benefits some unequally at the expense of many others. ICER affirms its commitment to witness more, care more, and act more— to be part of the change needed to ensure that race is no longer a determining factor in life expectancy. The organization further emphasized the need to address the negative impact of social determinants of health by earmarking more medical research dollars to combat conditions that disproportionately impact communities of color.
