Rise in Drug Prices Outpaces Other Healthcare Services

A new analysis from GoodRx revealed that drug prices are rising at a rate that outstrips other healthcare services. The report shows that since 2014, drug prices increased 33%, outpacing even inpatient care, which increased 30% since 2014. Prices for all medical services across the board rose 17% since 2014.

Tori Marsh, director of research at GoodRx, said that they wanted to dig further into how price increases compared to other sectors within healthcare. “The biggest takeaway is obviously that prescription drugs are rising beyond any of the other healthcare services,” she said. Read more here.
