To strengthen commitment and accelerate progress in pursuing universal health coverage (UHC), it is important to effectively address challenges associated with expanded healthcare use. Health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), and in particular health technology assessment (HTA) approach, is becoming instrumental in informing UHC decision-making.

In this session, experts from Latin America, Asia-Pacific and EMEA will discuss the role of HTA in UHC, including priority setting, coverage and financing, and share their experience in effective application of HTA to support designing benefits package for UHC while tackling the encountered challenges.
